RESORT INTERIORS FURNISHES KATRINA AID

The Home Furnishings and Design Center

Donates $100,000 in New Furniture to Mississippi Gulf Coast

Resort Interiors, the area’s larges home furnishings and design center, is donating over $100,000 in new furnishings including much needed mattresses to help rebuild the lives of Hurricane Katrina victims along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The store’s employees are busy inventorying and loading trucks for the delivery which they plan to make this weekend, called the “Katrina Relief Convoy”.

“This storm has devastated our neighbors to the west and we want to do all we can to help the people of the Mississippi Gulf Coast rebuild their lives,” says Frank Kovach, president of Resort Interiors.

"We appreciate the generous contribution from Resort Interiors. As we continue the recovery and rebuilding efforts in the affected areas, this donation will go a long way in helping our citizens with rebuilding their lives," said Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour.  Accepting this gift on behalf of the State of Mississippi is local attorney Lamar Conerly.

The Kovachs are not strangers to storm damage. They began Resort Interiors 10 years ago to help people of the Emerald Coast rebuild their homes and condominiums following Hurricane Opal. Since that time, Resort Interiors has furnished over 10,000 homes and condos and continues to offer renovation services in addition to furnishings. The company now has over 60,000 SF of space located in Destin on Highway 98 and has been voted the “Best Place the Shop for Furniture” and “Best Interior Design Firm” for 2005 by Emerald Coast Magazine. Resort Interiors represents most name brands and has the largest selection of merchandise in the area with over $6,000,000 in inventory.  They have won numerous Interior Design Awards and were named a top 100 fastest growing company in Florida in 1998 and 1999 by the University of Florida.
