The New Development Will Provide Up to $300,000
for Healthcare to the Residents of Panama City Beach

Wednesday, July 30, 2003~Randy Williams, Vice President for Foundation Affairs of Sacred Heart Health System, has announced a signed agreement with Mandalay Beach Resort which will provide up to $300,000 from the sales of Mandalay Beach Resort Condominiums, a development of Resort Investments, Inc. The contribution is the first of Sacred Heart’s new “Gift of the Heart” program for developers, in which developers can contribute $1,000 from each unit sale to the hospital for debt retirement, medical equipment needs or new bricks and mortar, and offer their buyers the opportunity to match their contributions. The agreement with Mandalay Beach Resort

Condominiums provides for a minimum of $160,000 from Mandalay Beach Resort Condominiums and as much as $300,000 as buyers of Mandalay condominiums participate with matching funds.
Williams says, “We are grateful to the developers of Mandalay Beach Resort, Frank Kovach and Ron Browning for making this substantial commitment to the Sacred Heart Foundation. These funds will be used toward providing additional healthcare for the residents of the Emerald Coast including Panama City Beach, Florida. We hope that Mandalay Beach Resort is just the first of many developments accepting the challenge to become Sacred Heart Sponsors.”

Kovach, president of Resort Investments, Inc. and a cabinet member of the Sacred Heart Fundraising efforts, is the Chairman of the Gift from the Heart campaign. He said, “Sacred Heart is vital in meeting the needs of the residents who will live in the communities and projects we develop. Generous businesses and individuals within the community have already contributed 15-million dollars toward the $20-million dollar need to help fund this $53-million dollar state-of-the-art health care facility. We hope that this developer campaign will add the final five million dollars necessary to fund Sacred Heart and to enable a much needed expansion into the Panama City Beach area. We challenge developers and buyers to give back to the community and to help us make this fundraising effort a success.”
According to Kovach, over 10,000 new condominiums and home sites are planned in the area and developers and buyers could be the key in fulfilling the hospital’s funding needs.

“Quality health care is often cited as the primary reason new property owners purchase in a new community. The healing and emergency care services this beautiful Sacred Heart facility offers are a tremendous plus for all residents of the Emerald Coast.”

According to Kovach, two levels of sponsorship are open to developers: Platinum or Gold. Each participating development will be recognized as a “Gift from the Heart Development.” The unique giving opportunity represents a joint gift between the developer and purchaser.
