RESORT INTERIORS BRINGS A MEDITERRANEAN INSPIRATION

 TO ONE BEACH CLUB DRIVE

When Kristin Crochet of Resort Interiors was designing the interior of Dean and Kelly Andrews’ One Beach Club vacation home in Sandestin, it was clear from the start that this would be a beautiful and unique design where the look is clean, uncluttered and each piece selected makes a statement.

Crochet says, “It was an enjoyable collaboration! Kelly is an art lover with an eye for the beautiful and unique.  Each piece we selected is truly exceptional. Dean is a busy attorney in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and we wanted a second home with a soothing, relaxing environment for him.”

With the enormous selection of furnishings from Resort Interiors, Crochet was able to create an eclectic Mediterranean look by pulling colors from the natural scape of the Emerald Coast.  Soothing, muted camels, teals, shades of turquoise and a few rust accents truly capture the essence of Destin.

The soft, muted tones are then picked up in the shades of the vegetable-dyed, flat-woven Tibetan rugs placed in virtually every room on the travertine floors.  “Each of the rugs is a treasure, in itself,” says Crochet.

Crochet chose Mediterranean designs from Century and Drexel Heritage, as well as many pieces from Lexington Furniture’s Tommy Bahama line. “Everywhere you look, we have added interesting pieces,” says Crochet, as she points to a console by Century in the entryway with its iron work and granite top and the hand-carved look of the entertainment center in the great room. Wesley Allen iron beds with Tommy Bahama dressers, chests and accent pieces create comfort in the guest bedrooms. From the master bedroom to each of the guest bedrooms, all bedding was custom-made under Crochet’s direction with fabrics from Robert Allen and Century.

Custom lighting is featured throughout, with a hand-blown chandelier in the master bath, John Richard lamps and a forged iron chandelier over the Mediterranean dining table. The kitchen features a breakfast nook with a Drexel Heritage rough-hewn farm table with a cute woven seagrass chandelier overhead.

Crochet kept window treatments to a minimum to showcase both the view of the Gulf and the unique art and furnishings. “It’s a clean, uncluttered and artistic look,” says Crochet. “The result is peaceful and soothing. I like to bring a level of comfort and ease to my design projects and make the process easy and fun for my clients, while creating spaces that truly reflect their needs and dreams. This was a dream for me, because I know the Andrews’ second home is a beautiful reflection of their elegant taste.”
